Co Living Developments Canterbury

Canterbury has a lot to offer in terms of accommodation. Barton Mill Road is home to build to rent apartments that have sprung up in the city, boasting balconies and amazing views. Houses in Canterbury spend just 28 days on the housing market before they are snapped up. This may be due to the enormous building projects that are being constructed within the city, Canterbury Riverside is a new leisure complex that is offering a cinema, shops, bars, 189 new homes and over 500 student beds.

Canterbury needs co living and build to rent developments to keep up with the demand of people wanting accommodation in the city after relocating or simply deciding to stay in the city after their studies have come to an end. Building space is scarce within the city walls so buyers have limited choice and buyers tend to have more choice further out. In terms of architecturally amazing developments, these are currently few and far between in Canterbury. Kosy Living hopes to change this, bringing our high specification, affordable accommodation where all bills are included. We will offer community co living in excellently located buildings within the city for likeminded people.

Canterbury is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and although small in size it is still one of the most visited cities in the UK. The city is home to three universities and therefore has a large student population and co living is a natural progression for students. The University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University and the University of the Creative Arts between them have a total of 41,000 students. The city has a population of around 157,400, so a quarter of all of the population of Canterbury are of student age, making the city a very young and vibrant place, although still steeped in history. Around 16% of the workforce in Canterbury are employed between the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University and education is worth around £910million to the city’s economy.

Canterbury offers its residents the best of both worlds, city centre living but coastal destinations within a thirty minute drive. London is less than an hour's train journey thanks to HS1, so going to the capital for an evening out is commonplace. In fact, lots of families move from London to Canterbury for better value for money homes and the excellent schools within the city.

Kosy Co Living has earmarked Canterbury as an ideal location for a mixture of co living and BTR (build to rent) development sites. If you're looking to invest in co living or build to rent developments contact the team for more information.
