Co Living and Build to Rent Coming to Dublin

Dublin is a city rich with history, culture and great craic! The metro area of Dublin has a population of 1.4 million (up 7% from 2016) with Dublin City home to approximately 600,000. Kosy co living see Dublin as an ideal hub for co living or build to rent development projects. Heaped in history and generally over populated in the capital city co living and build to rent can provide an ease to the current problems faced.

Dublin is a tourist hotspot and in 2019, it welcomed 5.7 million visitors – breaking records from previous years. With good transport links and plenty of visitor attractions, it also has a great food and drink scene, and a very lively nightlife scene with live music on 7 night a week. Music plays a huge part of Irish culture, so you don’t need to walk far to hear some incredible musicians.

It can be expensive but is becoming increasingly popular with freelancers and digital nomads looking to experience a different city and culture. There are around 120,000 students in the city across Dublin’s four universities, making it a very lively and exciting place to live for young people. There is however a severe housing shortage for students in Dublin, and the Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris said there need to be a "fundamental shift" in provision. Proposals are being brought forward to tackle both affordability and lack of stock issues, and the proposals aim to unlock planning permission for student accommodation. Belfast and Dublin are the two key areas that Kosy Co Living will seek to gain opportunities over the coming months and years.

With the cost of living going up, many graduates and young professionals need more affordable living options. Co living and BTR can offer a solution to the housing market by providing modern and well-located homes with all-inclusive rent, amenities and co working spaces included. The community living concept offered through co living and build to rent brings many social benefits with weekly meet ups, events and resident groups, enabling residents to meet people with similar interests, make friends and explore new hobbies.

With a large group of 20–40-year-olds, Dublin has huge potential for co living and BTR schemes in the city.
